Town of Poughkeepsie - Emily Adelaide Foster, 86, a lifelong area resident, passed away peacefully at home on November 14, 2023.

Born on September 5, 1937, in Poughkeepsie, she was the daughter of Albert LeRoy DeMartine and Adelaide Quehl DeMartine. She was a graduate of Poughkeepsie High School.

Emily worked in banking for many years until her retirement.

An active member of the Faith Assembly of God Church in Poughkeepsie, she provided visitation for "shut-ins" through the church and regularly attended bible study.

On September 4, 1955, in Poughkeepsie, she married Ronald William Foster Sr. Mr. Foster survives at home.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Ronald W. Foster Jr., and wife, Sarah, of Summerville, SC; and two daughters, Renee Dee Coon and husband, Kevin, and Randi Sue LaGoy and husband, Glen, both of Hyde Park.

She is also survived by her grandchildren, Ami, Kevin, Jennifer, Kendall, Joanna, Jillian, Ronnie III, Andre, Trevor, and Christian; great grandchildren, Wyatt, Tanner, Adelaide, Audrey, Michael, Hannah, Michael Jr., Bradley, Donnovan, Jayda, Wesley, and Mia; and several nieces and nephews.

She is also survived by her prayer partner of many years, Greta Davey of Hyde Park.

In addition to her parents, Emily was predeceased by her siblings, Donald, Dorothy, and Rhoda.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial calling hours will be from 12 Noon to 1 Pm, Monday, November 20th at Sweet's Funeral Home, Rte. 9, Hyde Park.

A funeral service will take place at 1 PM (following the visitation) at the Funeral Home. Pastor Donald Foster will officiate.

Entombment will follow in the Community Mausoleum at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
