Elvira Irene Haddad, 93, a longtime area resident, died on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at her home in Hyde Park. Born on October 2, 1923 in Leicester, MA, she was the daughter of the late Leon and Marcella Lazdauskas Paulauskas. In 1980, Elvira graduated from the State University of New York at New Paltz and was the class salutatorian. She later attended the Marist Center for Lifetime Study until 2009. Elvira worked as an office manager and bookkeeper at Siegal Furriers in Worcester, Massachusetts. On June 2, 1950 in Worcester, MA, she married the late Raymond A. Haddad. Mr. Haddad predeceased her in 1996. Elvira is survived by her daughter, Barbara M. Haddad, of Hyde Park; son, Michael R. Haddad, of Hyde Park; grandson, James E. Haddad, and his fiancé, Sarah Athanas; granddaughter, Rebecca J. Allers Haddad; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by one sister, Virginia Sweeney. In keeping with Elvira's wishes, there are no calling hours.
