Hyde Park, NY Elsie W. Blumberg, 94, of Hyde Park, died peacefully at home in the care and company of her husband, Marvin of 71 years and longtime caretaker Tina, on Thursday, August 19, 2021. Born on May 4, 1927, in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of William and Elsie Westphal Fischer.  On Saturday, April 22, 1950, in Philadelphia, PA, she married Marvin E.  Blumberg.  Marvin Survives at home.  Elsie retired from Dutchess County B.O.C.E.S. in 1989 after serving as a teacher's aide for over 20 years.  Elsie and her husband are members of The Reformed Church of Hyde Park. In addition to her beloved husband of 71 years, Elsie is survived by her daughter, Barbara Palmer, son, William (Bill) Blumberg, and grandchildren, Todd, and Lindsey Dembo.  Elsie is also survived by three very devoted health care aides that assisted with her daily care, Carolyn, Allison, and Tina.  At Elsie's request, there are no calling hours or services planned.  Cremation will take place at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery. Elsie's family respectfully requests memorial donations to Dutchess County SPCA, 636 Violet Ave., Hyde Park, NY 12538 or online at www.dcspca.org .   Arrangements are under the direction of Sweet's Funeral Home, Inc., Rte. 9, Hyde Park.
