Ellen M. Tompkins, 84, long time resident of Poughkeepsie died Tuesday morning, September 13, 2022.

Born on December 27, 1937, in Kingston, New York, she was the daughter of the late Azaria and Domenica née Organtini Marchetti. Ellen was the loving wife of Harry C. Tompkins, Jr. who survives her.

Ellen was a graduate of Kingston High School and a homemaker. She saw beauty in family as she was the youngest of nine siblings!

In addition to her loving husband, she is survived by her daughters Ann Skidgell, and her husband Steven, and Mary Camburn, and her husband Garrett; her grandchildren Patrick Skidgell and Carter and Chloe Camburn. She is also survived by her brother William V. Marchetti, Sr. in addition to many adoring nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her brothers Euclid, Anteo, Ulisse, and Benito and sisters Eva Dittmar, Olga Troiano, and Ida Merigliano.

Relatives and friends may call from 10am to 11:30am on Friday, September 16, 2022, at Sweet's Funeral Home, Rte. 9, Hyde Park. Funeral services will begin at 11:30am at the funeral home, followed by entombment at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
