Eleanor M. Denton, 93, passed away on Friday, December 17, 2021, at Renaissance Rehab & Nursing Care Center, after several years of suffering with vascular dementia.  She previously lived in Hyde Park, NY.  Born on August 10, 1928, in Poughkeepsie, NY, she was the daughter of John H. Dow, Sr. and Ethel J. Spencer Dow.  Eleanor was a graduate of Arlington High School, Class of 1946.  She initially worked as a Teletype Operator at DeLaval in Poughkeepsie.  She was a homemaker for many years and returned to work as a medical assistant at former Vanderbilt Manor for Assisted Living in Staatsburg.  She will always be remembered by those who knew her for her sense of humor and quick wit, combined with a heart of gold.  Eleanor is survived by her daughters, Kathleen Denton, Millbrook, NY, Carol and son-in-law Steve Heller, Rhinebeck, and brother, John H Dow Jr., Poughkeepsie.  She also leaves behind granddaughter Carrie Sammarco Ducillo and her husband Joseph of Millerton, NY, granddaughter Rebecca Lyden Schell and her partner, Pete Coon, of Red Hook, Courteney and Geoff DeMarco of Newburgh, NY and Joseph Schell and his partner, Janis Archer.  She was proud great-grandmother to Joseph and Anthony Ducillo and Jaedon and Connor Schell.  Also surviving are niece Natalie Conklin (Carl), nephews Ed and Steve Dow and several grandnieces and nephews.  Friends and relatives may call on Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at Sweet's Funeral Home, Inc., 4365 Albany Post Road, Hyde Park, from 9am to 10 am prior to the service.
