Elaine M. Way,  79 years young, died peacefully at her home in Hyde Park, NY on Monday October 9th, 2023.

Born and raised in Kingston, NY, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Mary Burgher. She attended and graduated from Kingston High School.

She married the love of her life, the late  William R. Way on November 8, 1964, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Kingston, NY. They were inseparable, always enjoying their families and many vacations through the years.

Elaine could always be found at Mardi-Bob bowling alley where she enjoyed her bowling leagues, and she worked at Bob Drug in Poughkeepsie for most of her career, until her and Bill relocated to Cocoa, FL. Where she had training to become a pharmacy tech at Walgreens.

Elaine is survived by her beloved cat Jacob, "Son" George Way Jr, and his wife Christene of Staatsburg, three "grandchildren", Justin Way and his wife Meagan, Courtney Way, and Trevor Way, and Two "great grandchildren" Hudson, and Haven Way, "step grandchildren" Caitlin Morrow, and Brendan McGann.

She is also survived by her sister in-law Dorothy Hughes of Hyde Park, NY, several nieces, nephews , and close friends.

Along with her parents she was predeceased by her brother Charles Burgher of Shokan, NY.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation will take place, and a private celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.

Elaine had such a love for her dogs and cats, therefore the family respectfully requests memorial donations to be made to the Dutchess County SPCA, 636 Violet Ave, Hyde Park, NY 12538
