Dominick Richard Policella, Jr., 83, a fourteen-year resident of Nebo, North Carolina and formerly of Staatsburg, passed away Friday, June 2, 2023, at CarePartners Hospice Solace Center in Asheville, NC.

Born on February 9, 1940, in Beacon, he was the son of Dominick Richard Policella, Sr. and Wanda Pavelock Policella. He attended Beacon Schools.

Mr. Policella proudly served in the United States Army from 1958 to 1961.

Dominick received his associates degree in nursing from Dutchess Community College and worked for 37 years at the Hudson River Psychiatric Center, most of those years as a Registered Nurse.

In his spare time, Dominick liked to fish and hunt, and go boating. He also enjoyed bowling and bowled in local leagues.

On January 30, 1970, in Poughkeepsie, he married the former Linda Kneiper. Mrs. Policella survives at home.

He is also survived by two children, Carleen Anderson (Shane) and Nicholas Policella (companion – Heather Christian); two grandchildren, Annalee and Laina Edge; an aunt; and several cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by several aunts and uncles.

Amass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM, Friday, June 9, at Regina Coeli Church, Rte. 9, Hyde Park.

Entombment with military honors will follow in the Our Lady of the Holy Souls Mausoleum at St. Peter's Cemetery, Poughkeepsie.
