Obituary

Domenick C. Dell'Accio, 86, of Hyde Park, NY passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. Born August 11, 1935 in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Charles and Maria LaStella Dell'Accio. Domenick worked for the NY Transit Authority as a mechanic before retiring upstate. On October 19, 1958 he married the former Barbara Lutz at the Holy Family Church in Brooklyn. Barbara predeceased him on March 4th, 2021. Domenick ("Pops") was a big man with an even bigger heart. There was nothing he enjoyed more than having his family with him – immersing himself in the conversation until he found his time to strike with a quick-witted word of wisdom. He was always a hard-working man who never had a clean pair of hands, whether from work at the bus depot, standing over the grill, or tending to his vegetable garden. We will always miss you, and we promise to "just keep laughing" for you, Dad/Grandpa/Great-Grandpa. Enjoy the dance floor with Grandma. Domenick was predeceased by brothers Vincent and Patsy Dell'Accio. He is survived by his sister, Josephine Roselli; his three children: Charles Dell'Accio and wife Ileene, of Monroe; Donna Palmer and husband Edward, of Hyde Park; Deborah Moschitto and husband Leonard, of Howard Beach; 12 grandchildren: Michael and wife Ann Dell'Accio, Marissa and husband Sam Schwartz, Christopher Dell'Accio, Nicholas Dell'Accio, Domenick and his wives Stephanie and Alyssa Cuccia, Joseph and wife Shelley Cuccia, Kristen Cuccia, Lauren Palmer, Jacqueline Palmer, Brinn Palmer, Vincent and wife Farheen Madonia, and Salvatore Moschitto; as well as one great grandchild, Sadie Cuccia. In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place, and both Domenick's and Barbara's lives have been celebrated with family and friends. Domenick's family respectfully requests memorial donations be made to the American Heart Association, P. O. Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284 (www.heart.org), or the Make a Wish Foundation, 1702 East Highland Ave., Suite 400 Phoenix, AZ 85016.
