Dennis C. Morgan, 57, a longtime resident of Hyde Park, died unexpectedly on Saturday, July 8, 2023.

Born on September 27, 1965, in Poughkeepsie, he was the son of the late Dennis V. Morgan and Jane Bocchino Morgan Martinez. His mother survives in Poughkeepsie.

Denny was a graduate of F.D. Roosevelt High School and Marist College. He was currently working for People USA, a non-profit peer-run mental health service which partnered with Dutchess County, creating a community outreach program called LEAD - Law Enforcement Assisted Diversion. Though Denny was an accountant by trade, he worked as a Certified Peer Recovery Advocate for People USA because it was more fulfilling to provide to his community in times of hardship and crisis.

He was a proud member of Alcoholics Anonymous, Hudson Valley Men of God, and Friends of Recovery – Dutchess. Whether on a personal or professional level, his greatest joy in life was helping others in need. May Denny find peace and joy in the arms of the Lord.

Denny married the former Kathy A. Fletcher on October 25, 1998, in Staatsburg. She survives at home.

In addition to his wife and mother, Denny is survived by his extended family, especially "his girls", Carly, Cherie, Shelby and Nikki, and many good friends.

An animal lover, Denny also leaves behind nine beloved pets.

In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his stepfather, Stephen Martinez, in 2019.

Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be at 11 AM on Saturday, July 29th at the Reach Out Church, 241 Crum Elbow Road, Hyde Park. Rev. Elizabeth Travis Clarkson will officiate.
