Obituary

Delores Germano, born Rachel Delores Gonzales in Pueblo, Colorado on December 23, 1935, entered eternal life on Thursday, March 2, 2023. Her spirit is carried on by her four children, 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and many much-loved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. "Dee" was the last surviving sibling of 10 brothers and sisters. Preceded by her first husband Lawrence Germano, more than thirty years ago, Dee's fiery spirit held the family together. She hosted every holiday with enough food for an army and always had the most magically decorated Christmas tree. Her holiday stuffing recipe is famous and will be carefully passed on for generations to come.

In Dee's early years, she was a USO Hostess at Fort Collins in Colorado where she met Larry, married, and moved with him to New York. Always fashionable and put together, she enjoyed a hobby as a seamstress and worked part-time as a real estate agent. Dee volunteered as a prayer partner for the Christian TV Network. She always helped people in need and certainly kept them well-fed.

A loving mother to her children Lawrence "Stephen", Matthew, Darryl, and Susan, Dee really shined as a grandmother. "Nanny," "Gunga," "Gram," or "Great Grandma Dee Dee," always had the best couches to make the best forts. She kept up with the times and was an early adopter of the cell phone (when the phone still had a cord), often calling her grandchildren from the car while she was out getting a diet coke and enjoying a drive. She drove with two feet (no, it was not a stick shift) and pumped the breaks to the beat of her favorite Spanish music. Unapologetically feisty, flirty, and fun, Dee charmed many here on Earth and will no doubt give her close friend Jesus a run for His money.

In memory of Delores please say a prayer for someone you love.
