Dawn L. Chesky, 53, of Hyde Park, died on Monday, May 27, 2024, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie.

Born, April 4, 1971 in Poughkeepsie, she was the daughter of the late Mary Lee Geirloff.

Dawn loved to be out in nature gardening and helping any rescue animals that she could, especially cats. She could often be found playing Lottery Scratch offs and drinking her Dunkin Donuts coffee.

Her biggest joy in life was spending time with her family, she took pride in being able to be there for her mother as she was in her final stages of life, transitioning in later years to spending time with her grandchildren, often stopping by with McDonald's spoiling them as much as she could.

Dawn is survived by her three children: Leanna Sorrentino and husband Andrew, Adreanna Chesky and significant other Kris, and Nicholas Chesky and significant other Brianna. Two grandchildren whom she adored, Emma and Andrew Sorrentino.

She is also survived by her brother, Kenny Gierloff, and sister, Michele Gierloff.

In keeping with her wishes cremation has taken place.
