David Briggs, 70, a lifelong area resident, died on Monday, October 16, 2023, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie,

Born February 8, 1953, in Poughkeepsie, he was the son of Ambrose Briggs and Hazel Brown Briggs.

Survivors include his three children, Sherry Martinez Lopez, Michael Briggs, and Michele Torreggiani; four grandchildren; three sisters, Hazel, Sharon, and Sandy; and several nieces and nephews.

There are no calling hours.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 23rd at 11AM, at the LaGrange Rural Cemetery, Overlook Road, Poughkeepsie.

Arrangements are under the direction of Sweet's Funeral Home, Inc., Rte. 9, Hyde Park.
