David E. Baratta of Poughkeepsie, died on Tuesday March 12, 2024, with his family by his side.

Born April 26, 1959, in Poughkeepsie.

He was survived by his daughter Sarah Joy Baratta; his mother, Joan Baratta, siblings, Arnold Baratta Jr., Kathleen Irish, Steven Baratta, Deborah Baratta and many nieces and nephews.

David worked for The City of Poughkeepsie Parks & Recreation Department as a Heavy Equipment Operator for many years.

He enjoyed the little things in life like watching thunderstorms, taking in nature's beauty on a nice day and fishing when he could.

In keeping with his wishes cremation has taken place.

A Celebration of Life will be from 2 to 5 pm on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at Hyde Park United Methodist Church, 1 Church St, Hyde Park, NY 12580.

Arrangements are under the direction of Sweet's Funeral Home, Inc., Route 9, Hyde Park.
