Cynthia J. Hedrick Owen, 69, of Pleasant Valley, New York, died unexpectedly on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at her home.

Born on November 6, 1956, in Poughkeepsie, she was the daughter of the late Richard Hedrick and Joyce Jean Van Wagner Hedrick.

Cynthia was a woman who found joy in life's simple comforts. She loved her cats, her grandchildren, and the peaceful hours spent tending her garden. Classic rock was the soundtrack of her days, a constant companion that brought her energy and happiness.

She worked for Bottini Fuel for many years until her retirement.

Cynthia is survived by her daughters, Kerri Kuhn Bodin of Pleasant Valley and Sharon Kuhn of Poughkeepsie; her grandchildren, Kyle (Alexa), Tyler, Jasmine, Hailee, Mikey, and Bryce; her sisters, Debbie and Sue, both of Florida; her niece, Melissa; her nephew, Jason; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She also leaves behind her close friend, Laura Murphy-Maisonet (Lauralye) of Clinton Corners; and her beloved cats, Boots and Smokey, who were constant sources of comfort and companionship.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Donna.

Cynthia will be deeply missed by her "Dutchess Dialysis Family," with whom she shared more than ten years of strength, perseverance, and mutual support.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
