Obituary

Clarine Elizabeth Dohrenwend died peacefully on May 10th, 2022, at the age of 85. At the time of her death, she resided in New Paltz. Clarine grew up in Queens, NY. She married the love of her life, Ed Dohrenwend, and together they raised their four children in Hyde Park. Clarine is predeceased by her husband, Edward. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Cathy Fuselier-Price and husband, Mathew, Gerry Dohrenwend and wife, Linda, Anne Dohrenwend and wife, Kim Stone, and Mary Dohrenwend. She is also survived by her five grandchildren, Eric and Paul Dohrenwend, Anna Thompson and husband, Austin, Abby Fuselier, and Leo Stone. Clarine earned an associate degree and worked as a school secretary at Roosevelt High School in Hyde Park. She loved the Hudson Valley and was content to sit in a garden or observe the turning of leaves in the fall. She loved animals, of all kinds, and delighted in her cat and any creature that crossed her path. Clarine loved to read and was a great consumer of British murder mysteries, a passion that she passed down to her children. Clarine will be missed for her ability to find joy in the smallest pleasures, her enthusiasm for making every holiday special, her non-judgmental, loving temperament, and her warm hugs and kisses. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM, Saturday, May 14th, at Regina Coeli Church, 2 Harvey Street, Hyde Park.
