Clara Ruth Grant, 95 of Poughkeepsie entered her long-awaited heavenly rest on Monday, May 31, 2021.  Born on December 15, 1925 in Clintondale, NY, she was the daughter of Elizabeth Decker Grant and Ardent Allison Grant. She was predeceased by nine siblings: Leslie, Ardent, Vera, Gladys, Claude, Clinton, Gertrude, Paul and Warren.  Clara is survived by her New Beginnings church family, where she was a long-time member. She was a  woman  who loved her Lord and Savior and was devoted to her faith.  She enjoyed playing the piano and took pleasure in the simple joys of getting together with her family and friends.   Clara has been a resident of The Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing at River Valley in Poughkeepsie for the past 8 years. Many thanks to the staff who cared for her during her stay.  A period of visitation will be held on Sunday, June 6th starting at 12 Noon with a funeral service to follow at 1 PM at Sweet's Funeral Home, Rte. 9, Hyde Park.  Burial will be at a later date in her family's plot at Sharptown Firemen's Cemetery, Sharptown, Maryland.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to New Beginnings Church, 35 De Garmo Rd.
