Charles Moyer, affectionately known as 'Chaz', 64,  a lifelong resident of Hyde Park, died unexpectedly on Sunday, September 12, 2021, at home.  Born August 31, 1957, in Poughkeepsie, he was the son of Antonio and Harriet Purdy Liardo.    Chaz proudly served in the United States Army from 1975 to 1978 and received commendations for his expert marksmanship.  He worked as a Custodian for Fargo Manufacturing in Poughkeepsie for twenty years, retiring in 1995.  On November 1, 2002, in Hyde Park, he married the former Melissa A. Ermo. Mrs. Moyer survives at home.  In addition to his wife, he is survived by his beloved Chihuahua, Roxey; two sisters, Estelle F. Rivera of Groton, Connecticut, and Bertha Ann Havens of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania; niece, Danielle Rivera, of Dallas, Texas; nephew, Joshua Rivera, of Haverstraw; niece, Audra Havens, of  Florida; aunt, Catherine Purdy, of Alaska; and several cousins.  In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place.  Memorial calling hours will be from  2 to 5 PM, Sunday, September 19th at Sweet's Funeral Home, Rte. 9, Hyde Park.  Chaz's family respectfully requests memorial donations to American Cancer Society, PO Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
