Beverly Benware Wise (Zaborowski), a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2026, at the age of 88 years in Poughkeepsie, New York.
Born in Norwich, Connecticut on February 26, 1938, to Joseph and Jennie Zaborowski, Beverly lived a life rooted in family, love, and dedication. She shared a marriage with Robert Benware, and together they built a home filled with warmth and guided their three daughters into adulthood.
Beverly’s greatest legacy is her family. Her presence brought immense joy, and her memory will forever be woven into the hearts of those she loved so deeply. Beverly demonstrated a profound strength and kindness that has been passed down through the generations. She especially enjoyed holiday time with her family, showing exemplary effort each and every time to create an atmosphere of immense love and happiness.
Beverly provided her girls with enrichment in many activities during their childhood. In her quiet moments, she found great joy in gardening, baking, and sewing. Beverly was also a passionate advocate for domestic violence awareness. She found immense happiness in the company of her cherished pets, a lifelong love for animals that she proudly passed down to her daughters.
She is survived by her three daughters and their husbands, Mary Beth Barnes (Danny), Debra Veneable (Darryl), and Roberta Hayes (Michael), her beloved grandchildren, Maia Gillepsy (Armel). Benjamin Veneable, Isaiah Veneable, Natalie Hayes, Gavin Hayes, and Brayden Hayes, and her cherished great-grandchildren, Gabriel Gillespy and Nikolai Gillespy. Beverly remarried as her daughters grew into adulthood and shared her life with Darren Wise, who survives. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Jennie Zaborowski, her brother, Joseph Zaborowski, Jr., and her first husband and father of her daughters, Robert Benware.
In accordance with Beverly’s wishes, a private burial will take place in her hometown of Norwich, Connecticut, where she will be laid to rest with her family.
The family requests that memorial donations be made in Beverly's name to the Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital (formerly St. Francis Hospital) in Poughkeepsie, NY.
We wish to thankfully extend our appreciation to the hospital for the final years of Beverly's career at St. Francis before retirement, and for the ICU hospital physicians and nurses who provided Beverly with such beautiful and compassionate care at the time of her passing.
