Arthur Mallard, 83, of Poughkeepsie, died on Saturday, July 8, 2023, at Renaissance Rehab & Nursing Care Center in Hyde Park.

Born, July 10, 1939, in Miami, FL, he was the son of Eleanor Mallard.

Arthur worked for Bedford Hills Correction Facility as a Food Service Supervisor for many years before his retirement.

He was married to Dolores Faye Rhodes.. Mrs. Mallard predeceased him on March 10th, 2023.

In his free time Arthur enjoyed fishing, cars, and woodworking.

Arthur is survived by his sons Raymond Rhodes of Poughkeepsie, and Michael Mankin of New Jersey. Along with 5 grandchildren; Anissa Rhodes, Breanna Rhodes, Talisha, Antolik, Asare Reyes and Amani Reyes, all of Poughkeepsie and 5 great grandchildren; Breason P. Whittaker, Drevon Lyons, Dijonell Freeman, Daviana Freeman and Davinna Freeman; as well as step grandchildren, Carmen and Natasha, and three step great grandchildren, Alyssa, Adrienne, and Alannah.

He is survived by his sisters Yolanda Davis and Evelyn Brady

Calling hours will be on Saturday July 22nd from 11am to 1pm at Sweets Funeral Home, 4365 Albany Post Rd., Hyde Park, NY 12538.

A service will take place at 12:30pm at the funeral home.
