Obituary

Armando S. Cammarano, a devoted husband and loving father, 81, of Hyde Park, died unexpectedly on Monday, June 5, 2023, at home with family by his side.

Born December 5, 1941, in Brooklyn, he was the son of the late Armando Cammarano and Josephine Coppa Cammarano.

After graduating college, Armando went on to foster a long, productive and distinguished career. He started at Brookhaven National Labs in Long Island, NY prior to his move to the Hudson Valley in the 60's to work at IBM. His career as an engineer spanned over 30 years in Fishkill, NY before retiring in 2003. During his tenure at IBM, he obtained several awards and patents while making lifelong friends.

On March 23, 1974 he married the love of his life, Maureen (McBride) Cammarano. They spent 49 wonderful years together enjoying the simple pleasures in life. Maureen survives at home but will forever remember the special man that he was.

After retirement, Armando could often be found around the house gardening, cooking and relaxing poolside. In his free time, he enjoyed laughing with friends and neighbors, fishing, taking photos, and most of all talking about politics.

Along with his wife he is also survived by his three children, Donna Steneck, Christopher Cammarano and Andrew Cammarano as well as three grandchildren, Emily Steneck, Patrick Steneck, and Karadyn Jaycox, whom he all adored.

Along with his parents he was predeceased by a sister, Asunta (Sue) Kelty.
