Obituary

Anne Marie (Rogers) Lake of Red Hook, NY, the 67 years young foundation of her family, was unexpectedly called home on February 3, 2022, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. Born on May 27, 1954, in Scotch Plains, NJ, Anne was the youngest daughter of the late Arthur Rogers and Ruth (Jones) Rogers. Anne's love of scrapbooking and sewing allowed her to express her affection through meaningful gifts during holidays, birthdays, or just because she thought about you. Thanksgiving was her absolute favorite holiday because it brought her children and grandchildren together in one place. Anne also welcomed anyone who would like to celebrate the day to come for food and be a part of her famous Thanksgiving BINGO game. She also was an avid card player and enjoyed sitting at the card table with her family and friends, playing any number of card games, pinochle being her favorite. Anne's idea of a perfect vacation included a beach or a pool nearby, hot weather, and room service. If there was sand, there was Anne. Anne met her soulmate Danny A. Lake in 1968, and they were married on June 26th, 1971, in Poughkeepsie. The two renewed their wedding vows in celebration of their recent 50th anniversary. Danny survives at home in Red Hook. Anne was the cherished mother to three children: Danny A. Lake, Jr.(deceased) and wife, Kelly, of Salt Point; Michael J. Lake of Hyde Park; Janel Winters and husband, William, of Hyde Park. Anne extended her love of family to the "Outlaws": Michele Rose, Kelly Miller, and Michael Kelly. Anne was a special grandmother to nine grandchildren: Kayla Donovan and husband, Patrick, Ashlee Thaqi and husband, Krist, Danielle Lake, Preston Lake, Stephanie Lake, Tori Lake, Wyatt Kelly, Cole Kelly, and Emily Winters. Anne was also a terrific "Gigi" to five great-grandchildren: Liam Donovan, Cameron Donovan, Leona Thaqi, Marcus Dandridge, and Allison Dandridge. Anne is survived by her brother, Buddy Rogers, and partner, Patti Doxsey, of Red Hook; her sister, Candy Fowler, of Stedman, NC; and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents and her son Danny, Anne was predeceased by her brother, Arthur "Sonny" Rogers, Jr. In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place. Memorial calling hours will be from 2 to 5 PM Saturday, February 19, 2022, at Sweet's Funeral Home, Route 9, Hyde Park, NY. A celebration of Anne's life will begin at 4 PM during the visitation. Burial will occur at the family's convenience at Crum Elbow Cemetery in Hyde Park. Remembrances may be made in the form desired by family and friends.
