Anne Maureen
Jordan
Nov 11, 1961 — Oct 9, 2023
Anne Maureen (Ward) Jordan, of Staatsburg, NY, passed away Monday, October 9. Anne was born November 11, 1961 in Middlesex, NJ to the late William "Bill" and Helen Burke Ward. She moved with her family to White Plains, NY in 1963. As the seventh of eight children, Anne's lifelong love for adventure began with family trips driving across the country and camping throughout the Northeast.
On May 9, 1987, she married her best friend Robert "Bob" Jordan at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in White Plains. They moved to Staatsburg in 1993 where they raised their four children. Anne's adventures continued as her family often camped upstate and traveled along the Massachusetts coast and Berkshires. She attended many family reunions with cousins from across the country.
Anne's passion for continued learning resulted in her being an influential leader in her community. She worked fifteen years at the Staatsburg Library from 1994-2009, including ten years as the library director. She earned a Master's of Library Science from Southern Connecticut State University and a Bachelor's in Business Management and Economics from Empire State College. She began working at the Anderson Center for Autism in 2009, and progressed to Chief Human Resources Officer. Her love of reading culminated with a mystery novel she authored, "Chasing Lucy" under the pen name A.J. Killian.
Anne is survived by her husband of 36 years, Bob, and their children Robert (fiancée Paris), Brian, Jake (Regis Shanley), and Quinn. Her siblings include Sharon (Jerry) Fitzmaurice, Claire (Bob) Satenberg, Thomas (Michaela) Ward, Bill (Mary) Ward, and Rosemarie (Eric) Sanders, sister-in-law Mary Ward, brother-in-law Chris (Karen) Jordan, and sister-in-law Cindy (Doug) Palmadessa. Anne's nieces and nephews include: Anne Marie and Alex Ward, Shannon and Meghan Fitzmaurice, Michele (Ian) Weiss, Billy Satenberg, Brianna (Nick) Poesch, Liam Ward, Billy and Jack Ward, Tim Sanders and Leah (John) Dalton, Lexie and Liam Jordan, Douglas and Meaghan Palmadessa. She was a great-aunt to Mabel and Max Weiss, Jamie Satenberg, and Holly Dalton. Her first grandchild, Maya Anne, is expected this November to Jake and Regis.
She was predeceased by her father, mother, Dottie Ward (sister), Kevin Ward (brother), Brendan Fitzmaurice (nephew), Robert and Adrienne Jordan (father and mother-in-law).
Anne was an inspiration to everyone she met and will be remembered for her faith, humor, and generosity. Her story is a collection of many beautiful stories within it; not one nor a thousand pages could properly tell the tale.
