Amada "Nora" Benson, 86, of Hyde Park, died on Saturday, December 24, 2022, at home with her family by her side.

Born, January 6, 1936, in the Philippines, she was the daughter of the late Sancho Tuballa and Amada Dellona Tuballa.

Nora worked for Wassaic Center as a cleaner and housekeeper for many years before her retirement.

In 1970 she married her husband, Samuel Benson; Mr. Benson predeceased her in 2007.

Nora was a generous person who loved to give to those in need and her family whenever she could. She enjoyed cooking, watching old Filipino movies, magazines and watching any news channel that was available to her, including those in the Philippines so she could be involved with her family back home.

She is survived by her four children; Exequila Araula, Carmelita Diaz, Conchita Bantoto, and Rodrigo Elvina; nine grandchildren, Jeric Bantoto, Micah Araula, Leah Diaz, Anthony Diaz, Jane Diaz, Liezel Zavala, Anna Marie Dano~, Annaleen Bantoto.

She is also survived by 11 great grandchildren, two sisters Estrella Day, Leonides Tuballa and one brother Leonardo Tuballa.

Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 PM, on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at Sweet's Funeral Home, 4365 Albany Post Rd., Hyde Park, NY.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday, December 29, 2022, at Regina Coeli Church, 2 Harvey Street, Hyde Park, NY.

Burial will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery, Poughkeepsie.

Arrangements are under the direction of Sweet's Funeral Home, Inc., Rte. 9, Hyde Park.
