Allen Lawrence Lang Jr. "Larry", 81, of Hyde Park, New York, passed away on Thursday, December 25, 2025, in Poughkeepsie, New York at home with his family.

Born on Sunday, November 5, 1944, in Bay Shore, Long Island, Larry was the son of the late Allen L. Lang, Sr. and Joyce (Aldrich) Lang.

On August 14, 1965, Larry married Helen Pottenburgh. Together they shared over 60 years of marriage and memories.

Larry was a lifelong entrepreneur and businessman. When he graduated from Arlington High School in 1962 he began working at Hyde Park Motors as a mechanic and salesman. In 1973, he started Mid Valley Auto Sales and in 1977 he started AALCO Auto Parts, actively operating both businesses until his passing. Throughout his lifetime he bought and sold numerous properties and businesses. Among them were Clarke's Marina in Inlet, NY and a supermarket in Old Forge. His keen eye for opportunity and love of buying and selling earned him the affectionate nickname "Mr. Monopoly" among family and friends. He never passed up a good deal or auction!

In his younger years, Larry had a deep passion for snowmobiling and was actively involved in racing, especially on Long Lake in the Adirondacks. For many years he enjoyed spending weekends in the Adirondacks with his family. In recent years, he enjoyed going to Florida with his wife Helen. He embraced a full lifestyle that reflected his never ending energetic spirit.

Throughout Larry's lifetime successes, he always kept a humble and understanding heart and helped those in need of a hand.

Larry is survived by his beloved wife, Helen Lang; his children Michael Lang (Christine), Kenneth Lang (Vanessa), and Kathyrn Moore; his twelve grandchildren: Kaylee, Erich (Alyssa), Shawn (Amanda), McKaylla, Ryan, Kenny Jr., Genevieve, Aileen, Shyanne, Michael, Anthony, and Jolene; and four great-grandchildren, Peyton, Clarke, Levi, Savannah and Luca.

He is also survived by his siblings Cheryl Lang, Bruce Lang (Christine), and Patricia Bernhardt (Richard) in addition to many nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, Larry was predeceased by his sister Cathy Lang.

Calling hours will be held from 4 PM to 7 PM on Friday, January 2, 2026, at Sweet's Funeral Home, Hyde Park, New York.
