Alberto
Monti
Aug 12, 1934 — Mar 15, 2026
Alberto Monti passed away on March 15, 2026, in Staatsburg, New York, at the age of 91. Born on August 12, 1934, in Flushing, Queens, New York, he lived a long and meaningful life marked by family and friendship.
He is remembered by his loving wife Virginia, children Dion, Suzanne, and Denise, grandchildren Dustin, Casey, Shannon, Megan, Sarah, and Christopher, and great-granddaughter Ella. He is predeceased by his parents Umberto Monti and Pia (Salvatori) and his siblings Rose, Ida, Angelo, and Francesco. His life was enriched by these cherished relationships, and he took great pride in his family and friends. He leaves behind a legacy of love, support, and kindness.
Al proudly served his country as an Army veteran and earned his college degree from Pace University, later becoming a Certified Public Accountant. He was known locally for preparing tax returns for a large client base and also volunteered his time preparing returns at The Office for the Aging in Dutchess County. Al's family would gather at his childhood home in Flushing where he would prepare taxes for his siblings, nephews and nieces, and enjoy a nice Italian meal. He also spoke fondly of his time working for FDR Jr at his farm in Poughquag, NY.
In retirement, Al enjoyed woodworking and carpentry, which he would sell at craft fairs alongside his wife, Ginger. He and Ginger also extensively traveled the United States, often without a map, which led to many adventures together. After raising their family in Hopewell Junction, NY, they moved to Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, living there for almost twenty years enjoying the warm weather and sun.
Al will be remembered for his love of life and sense of humor. He was sure to make friends wherever he was and could be counted on to lend a hand. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Services will be held on a future date at Saratoga National Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Hudson Valley Hospice: https://www.hvhospice.org/donate-now/
