Kathleen Ann Sharpe, 55, a lifelong area resident, died Sunday, Aug. 10, 2003 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. Mrs. Sharpe was a former housekeeper at the Holiday Inn in Poughkeepsie. She enjoyed pig collectibles. Mrs. Sharpe attended St. Peters Church in Hyde Park. Born Sept. 29, 1947 in Hyde Park, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Laura Styers Elmendorf. On Sept. 12, 1968 in Poughkeepsie, she married Ronald Patrick Sharpe Sr. Mr. Sharpe survives at home. In addition to her husband, she is also survived by four children, Lisa Tartter of Clarksville, TN; Ronald Sharpe Jr. of Poughkeepsie; Lincoln Sharpe of Tempe, Ariz.; Marguritte Sharpe of Poughkeepsie; seven grandchildren, Rosemarie Blackwell, Robert Blackwell, Chastity Tartter, Nicole Tartter, Luis Sharpe, Manuel Sharpe and Jasmine Sharpe; four sisters, Barbara Elmendorf, Patricia Elmendorf, Karen Durant and Gloria Nivens; four brothers, William, Robert, Edward and Charles Elmendorf; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Carol Nivens. An hour of visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 14, at Sweets Funeral Home Inc., Rte. 9, Hyde Park.
