Joseph Frisenda, 92, of Poughkeepsie, died on, February 10, 2017, at Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck, New York. Born, August 23, 1924 in Fairmont, WV, he was the Son of the late Adalfo and Gisueppina Proto Frisenda. He proudly served in the United States Navy during World War 2. He worked for U.S. Postal Service in Poughkeepsie, NY until his retirement. On November 17, 1946 in, he married the former Marion Werner who predeceased him on January 5th 2013. Mr. Frisenda enjoyed playing slow and fast pitch softball from the 50's through the 70's, and enjoyed umpiring little league. He is survived by his two sons, Robert and Ralph Frisenda, and 6 Grandchildren and 5 Great grandchildren. A period of visitation will be Thursday February 16th from 10 AM to 11 AM, at Sweet's Funeral Home, Rte. 9 Hyde Park, NY with a service at 11 AM with Rev. Arlene Dawber officiating, followed by military honors, Burial will be in the spring at Mount Marion Cemetery, Saugerties, NY.
