Obituary for Cynthia Ann Anson

Cynthia Ann Anson, 70, a lifelong area resident, died on Monday, December 10, 2018, at home with her family by her side.

Born July 9, 1948 in Poughkeepsie, she was the daughter of the late Floyd and June Snyder Curtis. She was a graduate of Poughkeepsie High School and the Vassar Hospital School of Nursing.

Cyndy was a member of the Church of The Holy Comforter in Poughkeepsie.

She was a Registered Nurse at the Hudson River Psychiatric Center for thirty-five years and retired in 2012. Cyndy was also active with the Nurses Health Study II for twenty-nine years.

Survivors include her daughter, Cara Anson; son, Wayne Anson and wife, MacKenzie; adopted son, Marco Baresi; adopted daughter, Katrina Cree; grandson, John Charles Anson II; four brothers, Leslie Curtis and wife, Donna, Jay Curtis and companion, Mary Tamney, Neil Curtis and companion, Mary Hamden, and Miles Curtis and wife, Lisa; and sister, Rosemary Evans and husband, Belton.

She is also survived by many nieces and nephews; Rana Curtis, Lyle Curtis, Jennifer Duncan and husband Rob, Jay Curtis Jr. and wife Clare, Floyd Curtis and wife Jessica, Kristina Ekiz and husband Nasif, Erik Curtis, Aleks Curtis, Nicholas Curtis and wife Danielle, Andrew Curtis, LaKeysha Evans and Akieme Evans; aunt and uncle, Sandy and Jerry Hait; several cousins, including Grant and Randy Hait; and many friends.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a nephew, Dazzy Evans; and sister-in-law, Gail Curtis.

In keeping with Cyndy’s wishes, cremation has taken place and services will be private.
