Barbara Anne Shook, 75, a lifelong area resident, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 27, 2018 with her family at her side at Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck. Born in Poughkeepsie on May 9, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Oscar D. and Lillian Chiulli Wynant. She was a graduate of F.D. Roosevelt High School in Hyde Park and Cosmetology School. A cosmetologist for over thirty years, she was the former owner / operator of Red Hook Hair Unlimited. On May 22, 1976, in Red Hook, she married Dennis J. Shook. Mr. Shook survives at home. Barbara loved her family. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her three daughters, Angela Cunningham and husband, Charles, E. Annette Blake, and Anita Kruppa; grandchildren, Ryan T. and Magan A. Kruppa. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Lawrence V. Wynant. Funeral services and burial in Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery will be private.
