Obituary for Anthony R. Cappillino Sr.

Hyde Park- Anthony R. Cappillino Sr. , 70, a lifelong area resident, passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie.
    Born on December 24, 1947, Tony was the son of the late Anthony B. and Concetta J. Sucato Cappillino. He attended Poughkeepsie Schools.
    Tony worked for Dutchess Beer in Poughkeepsie for many years until his retirement.
    He was an active member of St. Peter’s Church in Hyde Park, the Hyde Park Knights of Columbus Council #6111, Poughkeepsie Elks B.P.O.E. #275, and the Hyde Park Historical Society.
    Mr. Cappillino enjoyed spending time with his pets, which included fish, birds, and a dog.
    He loved to fish and could often be found at his home on Robinson Pond in Copake with a line in the water.
    On April 12, 1969, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Poughkeepsie, he married the former Sharon L. Hauptman. Mrs. Cappillino survives at home.
    Tony loved his family. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his five children:  Anthony R. Cappillino, Jr. and wife, Fran,  of Hyde Park, Peter W. Cappillino, and his partner, Rudy, of Hyde Park, “the triplets,” Amy Rose, Mary Rose, and Charles R. Cappillino, all of Hyde Park; and one granddaughter, Jazmine G. Cappillino, of Hyde Park.
    He is also survived by his sister, June Pennes, and husband, Victor, of Poughkeepsie; sister, Karen Belling, and husband, Robert, of Naples, FL; brother, Dennis Cappillino, and companion, Deborah Lengyl, of Poughkeepsie; sister-in-law, Marilyn Pesavento Cappillino, of Marlboro; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
     Tony had many friends. He will be sorely missed.   
     Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 Pm, Thursday November 15th, at Sweet’s Funeral Home, Rte. 9, Hyde Park.
      The Knights of Columbus will conduct services during the calling hours.
     A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, Friday at 10 Am Friday November 16th at Our Lady of The Rosary Chapel of St. Peters’ Parish, 185 Hudson View Drive, Poughkeepsie.
    Burial will follow in the family plot at Union Cemetery of Hyde Park.     
    In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial donations to St. Peters’ Parish, 6 Fr. Cody Plaza, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.
