Obituary for Vincent A. Ippolito, MD

Vincent A. Ippolito, MD, 77 years-old, of Hyde Park, died peacefully on Monday, November 13, 2017. He was born on April 5, 1940 in the Bronx to Josephine LaBue Ippolito and Peter Ippolito. He graduated from DeWitt Clinton High School and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Fordham College. He attended Rome Medical School and completed residency programs at Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn, Northern Westchester Hospital, Westchester Medical Center, and St. Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury, CT. His entire career was devoted to practicing emergency medicine in several local hospitals. On August 18, 1973, he married the love of his life, Judith Merrick Ippolito. Vincent is survived by his wife, Judith; son, Gregory; and his daughter, Suzanne Ippolito Roettger, her husband, Stewart, and their son, Nathaniel. In addition, he is survived by his sister, Rosemary Longo, and her husband, Fred; and two brothers: Denis Ippolito, and his wife, Mary Ann, and Dr. Raymond Ippolito, and his wife, Carmen. After retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his family, surfing the internet, and Skyping with his grandson. He was an avid Yankees fan who used his green thumb to grow championship tomatoes, winning a family contest four times. Calling hours will take place from 10am-12pm on Friday, November 17th at Sweet’s Funeral Home, Rte. 9, Hyde Park. A funeral service will be at 11:30am, during the calling hours. Deacon Peter Dalmer will be officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
